Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute (BHSI)
BHSI is a non-profit consumer-funded program acting as a clearinghouse and a technical resource for bicycle helmet information based in Washington D.C. Their mission is to explain the technology of helmets to consumers and to promote better helmets through improved standards. They have volunteers serving on the ASTM helmet standard committee and are active in commenting on actions of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The BHSI website is an outstanding resource for helmet safety research.
