Recognition and a call out from the State of New Jersey plus!

This Sunday, Team Evesham was presented with an award from the New Jersey Legislature for Community Leadership and Exemplary Volunteerism. Senator Dawn Addiego presented the team with this recognition for our fundraising and community spirit in raising more than $350,000 since the team was formed in 2008. She specifically called out our efforts for the MS City to Shore Ride and the other charity rides we participate in plus our weekly training rides and community activism. Just ask our volunteers about our Thanksgiving meal program. This unique honor and having Senator Addiego present at 8:00am only made our ride even more spectacular. A special welcome back to John and Frank, glad to have you both back and riding with us. This week Team Evesham had 171 riders partaking in our rides.
Our Saturday Sunrise Ride continues to be extremely popular with the early to rise group…
Espresso, please…
10 riders, many sporting the early layers of cold gear, arrived nice and early for our Saturday Sunrise Ride! It was a peaceful morning with a brisk chill in the air as we smoothly set off to embrace the glowing sun as it made its presence. Two routes were conquered; a 28 mile c+ ride and and 35 mile b/b+ ride. Some of us had frozen toes, but nothing that a few cups of piping hot rich-bodied espresso from Zena’s bakery couldn’t cure! After a lot of laughs and warmed-up riders peeling off layers of outerwear, we continued on our journey along the sparkling riverside. Keep an eye on the website to check for our next Saturday Sunrise ride!  We will do our best to accommodate various levels and break into smaller groups when possible. As far as I’m concerned, there is no better way to start off your Saturday morning!  Hope to see you there!

As you may have noticed, our ride this past Sunday was shorter, we are trying to get folks conditioned for the city to Shore event so we rotate between distance and hills for our training. Sandy mentioned a super deal from RoadID, check out the details  and save 20%. Take advantage of this great deal to enable first responders to help you if you are ever involved in an accident. Plus get the mobile app for free. We also saw a bit of a chillier riding day for this past Saturday and Sunday, look at these articles for ideas on dressing in cooler weather. Stay Warm on Cool Days.
A few reminders, please mark your calendar and make your reservation for the Team Evesham dinner on September 27 at the Pennsauken Country Club. This is a great event open to all riders and their families. You can pick up your number for the MS ride.  MS Pre-ride Dinner.
Also, if you rode in the Tour de Shore, we are invited to celebrate the incredible record fundraising this year. This event will be held on September 30 at Bottos in Swedesboro NJ.  Tour de Shore Celebration
Finally please note our Thursday night ride time is 5:30pm and our Saturday ride time is now 6:30am. We made these changes due to daylight and for safety.
