Hitchhiker Road Bikers

It was a busy Sunday with two big rides: Team Evesham had 48 riders participating in the American Cancer Society’s annual Bike-a-Thon event. Our intrepid ACS team captain Dave Bennis lead us all over the Ben Franklin Bridge and into the wilderness that is Southern New Jersey. Thanks to Dave and his lovely wife Judith for bringing the food and drinks down to the ACS finish line in Buena, NJ (Dave tells me next year we’re going to get someone else to do this).

And big thanks also to Scott Santos for organizing Sunday morning’s ride from Indian Spring Country Club where 66 riders showed up. We all had a good chuckle from his ride report in which he mentioned… “We didn’t lose anyone with the ACS ride however we gained some riders from it.  Minor set back for them as we told them that they were going the wrong way.” Cathy Hartman recounted chasing down ACS riders who were following the Team Evesham Sunday ride. I guess people just want to be like us. But there’s only one Team Evesham!

  • Sunday, 7/28 – The Irish Pub’s annual Tour de Shore charity ride.

We sincerely hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather and longer rides this year as we are gearing up for both the Tour de Shore and MS City-to-Shore rides. The Irish Pub ride is currently closed but the MS Ride is approaching and it is not to be missed. Sign up with Team Evesham today.

Remember that we are all responsible for our own safety. Please do not blindly follow other riders through intersections. Instead remember to look both ways before crossing, as you would if you were riding alone. As Dave is fond of saying, a safe ride is a fun ride. Enjoy the summer!
