Tour de Rouge

On Sunday morning, November 25th, we started out from the Indian Spring Country Club with 36 riders and it must have been about 36 degrees. The route may have even been 36 miles as well – who’s counting? Many thanks to our master cartographer and team co-captain, Dave Bennis for all of his hard work creating new bike routes for us each week.

On an even brighter note the sun did make an appearance to help warm things up. I wonder if the sun prefers yellow over red?

Moving on down the road, Light Wings (the restaurant at the South Jersey Regional Airport) lifted our spirits about halfway through the ride with hot tea, coffee, assorted muffins, pastries and a warm place to sit for a few moments.

And that’s not all. A bunch of us enjoyed a warm lunch at Marco’s when we returned. Laura’s father, Phil, was up from South Carolina and joined us for the ride and a meal afterward. A shout out to Phil: Hey Phil thanks for riding with us! As always, a great place to eat. This is why Marco’s will be hosting our Holiday Party this year. Good times.

An Interesting Bit of Bicycling History…

Great Britain, 1945: Here’s how bicycles used to be made. If you can stand to watch the entire video.

As the temperatures drop and fewer riders show up we are inclined to look forward to next year. Keep riding but always remember to be safe and courteous. Thanks for an amazing, record-breaking year Team Evesham!
