It was a Picture Postcard day for a ride

Today was the culmination of an incredible week of weather for cycling. We welcomed 122 riders today for a two glorious routes. The hot spot was our meeting place at the Old World Bakery, just the ideal place to recharge and get a few added calories.

Our thanks go out to the Evesham Police for their incredible traffic control along Route 70 and to your incredible ride leaders who do their best to make the rides fun, safe and a weekly change of pace. Part of the group journeyed out to Pemberton after the bakery for a totally new ride.

A few observations, when we pulled into the Olde world bakery two ladies from New York were enjoying their brunch outside and they started to ask questions about our team. I explained to them our enjoyment, fitness, and goal of raising money for charity. I mentioned the upcoming MS City to Shore ride and on the spot got a donation from these two ladies for $30.00. This was awesome and it just goes to demonstrate people will help for charity. Speaking of the MS City to Shore, please join us here for the upcoming ride on September 29 and 30.

If you are riding then you don’t want to miss our Team Dinner on Friday, September 28 at the Gibson House. Please go here to register for the dinner and also select your choice of entry. This year, riders can get their MS jersey at D&Q, on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, NJ. If you have friends who still want to register for the MS ride please tell them to go to our site and use the discount code that is posted there. As of today we have raised more than $65,000 in the fight against MS this year.

A few passing comments and observations, since I did not ride I was sure to get a photo (left) of Brad this week. I now know why Jim Sweet is so strong as a rider, he eats sweet potatoes as his snack on the ride, (check out the middle picture too). It’s a little-known fact that Jim Sweet’s great, great, great, great grandfather invented the first sweet potato in the early nineteenth century. I also want to thank Glenn Page (right) for his interest in rider safety and for hosting a course for the team leaders, stay tuned, he has promised a return session in November. Also the jerseys from prior years sold out, thank you for your interest in wearing these vintage items.

If you are riding with us in the City to Shore event, we have important news to communicate with you but I will save that for another email.

Here is a random comment that we received last week, please tell us how to improve the experience for you our loyal riders.

Great ride Team Evesham! I’m sure I speak for all of the 109 riders that you folks put on an exemplary program with dedication. Making sure we riders are safe, pre-checking the routes, introducing each other and overall great camaraderie. It is truly a great experience biking with Team Evesham.

We had originally planned for the new team jackets and shorts to be available this coming Tuesday at D&Q. However this has been delayed until Friday, September 21st after 2pm because of a vendor error. if you are riding in the ms event, pricing is $75 for shorts and $75 for jackets.
