It was spectacular ride thru the Pinelands!

Today 18 of your teammates did a ride in preparation for the Cancer Ride this weekend. We stopped at Conte’s Farms, the picnic tables in the shade were great. We even recruited 2 more riders, one from Blue Bell, PA and the other from Manahawkin, NJ, to join us for our training ride. This ride was super, (thanks Joe) a new route and only two flat tires. But the big story was the good samaritan who stopped to assist Steve and then even brought him back to Marlton and the Promenade, he was all out of tubes. It really restores my faith in other drivers. Plus this gal wants to ride with us.

Stay tuned for the other events this weekend.

A) Saturday, July 7, 6:30pm, Team Evesham Dinner-join your teammates at Marco’s at Indian Spring Country Club for our pre-ride dinner, click here to register. This dinner is open to anyone, you do not need to be riding to attend.

B) Sunday, July 8, 6:30am, American cancer ride, main start point is the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia. Join your teammates in this great event, sign up here and avoid the lines and the waits to register at the start points.

C) If you are participating in the Cancer ride you should have received an email from Dave Bennis regarding the specifics, photos, car pools, tent, etc., If you misplaced the email, reach out to Dave .  Please wear your jersey for the team photo.

D) Weather, this Sunday promises to be slightly milder than Saturday but still be ADVISED: when you ride in heat, you must use caution, bring at least two refillable water bottles, energy chews, sunscreen, and be sensitive to what your body is telling you. Wendy prepared a great review of riding in extreme heat, please review Heat Related Illness. With the high temperatures it is wise to stop at all rest stops, get sports drink and water and rest in the shade. If you have questions please reach out now.

E) The  regular all level Sunday ride is CANCELLED this Sunday since all the ride team leaders are participating in the Cancer ride.

F) We look forward to resuming our normal Sunday ride on July 17, at Panera in the Promenade.
