Double the team size, extreme heat conditions, and riding for a cause

Four members of the original 2008 Team Evesham completed the ACS Bike-a-Thon this Sunday. From left to right: Chuck Kaplan, Sandy Student, Linda Palmer & Mike Barth.

On Sunday, July 8th we had more than 50 members of Team Evesham riding in the Cancer Society annual ride. This is very impressive especially since the overall number of riders declined this year. The route for the Cancer ride was different and we enjoyed a much improved ride this year. Plus the heat on the pavement was over 110 degrees in places on Sunday. All of our riders got back safe and a few learned about riding in extreme heat too. Cancer touches so many lives with its vast impact on our families, it was great to see us exceed last years level of fundraising. Remember, you can keep fundraising and hopefully we can raise more than $20,000 for the “official sponsor of birthdays”. If you have any suggestions for making this event even better just email We salute our Team Captain Dave Bennis for serving on the committee that staged this ride and for also arranging our team meal on Saturday.

Team Jerseys Are Here!

The new jerseys have arrived at D&Q, Route 70 in Cherry Hill. All of the ACS riders loved the jerseys and we appreciate the compliments on the design of this year’s jersey. If you have signed up to participate in either of our charity rides, you can purchase a new jersey for only $25.00. The team subsidizes your  cost as a way of thanking you for participating in the charity events. We update D&Q daily with new team members and you can even try on the jerseys at the store. If you can not join us for a charity ride you can still purchase a jersey for only $50.00.
