This past Sunday we started our official ride season and we had 66 riders out for our New Road ride. We split into four groups and were led by expert leaders. Thanks to Chuck, Dennis, Brad, Dave, Pete, and Lon for making certain we all were on the route and safe.
A few quick items to report, please be careful when you are out on your bike, I got hit on Sunday when I was riding with another rider on a shortened ride (I had a wedding to attend). We took a detour onto Christopher’s Mill Road to avoid the traffic on Tuckerton Road and the mirrors on an SUV sideswiped me. Steve who was with me said, “when you get tapped by a 4000 pound car it still hurts”. Ok, no worse for wear but please be aware of your surroundings. When you hear “car back”, move into a single file position along the road.
On Saturday, March 31, at 7:00pm the Evesham Police Unity Tour team will host a beef and beer at the Gibson House (535 Main Street in Marlton). This is an incredible event and it supports the team on their ride to Washington DC in honor of those law enforcement members who made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to their respective communities. Please come out a support this worthy cause. For tickets ($30 per person) and information call 856-985-6015.
This Friday we begin our C/C+ rides from Panera Bread at 8:30am, come out and ride with our own Dave Bennis. He is our very own route master and his rides are always spectacular.
Please remember the jersey contest and for those of you who rode with us on the 2011 MS Team Evesham team we have your discount cards, you can collect these at the Sunday rides.
The weather the rest of the week looks great for riding, highs in the 70-80s, but the long range forecast for Sunday is a bit questionable right now. Be sure to check back with the website for any weather related ride updates.
Thanks again for riding with us, we hope to see you on the Sunday. If you still need a Team Evesham jersey get one now, there are a few left, the price is only $50.00.
