This past Sunday’s ride from Panera’s in Evesham to Olde World Bakery in Easthamptom was a joint ride with the Rock It Riders, and 33 cyclists were there for the ride. Some who were riding with us for the first time, and hopefully not the last. Although it was cloudy and chilly at the start, it was sunny and warmer when we arrived back at Panera’s. (At least it was for us slower riders.)
We started out as 3 groups but split into several smaller groups during the ride by the time we reached Olde World Bakery. After some hot coffee and danishes, there was some regrouping, but again the we separated into smaller groups. Some the cyclists have been out there riding all winter while some are just getting started again this year. As the weather gets warmer, and we get into better riding shape the groups should be better able to hold together. Though the most important thing on a ride is to maintain a pace you can hold, ride safely, and enjoy the ride.
Team Evesham will be officially starting our Sunday rides on March 18th, but with the nice weather forecasted for next weekend we will be having a ride on Sunday, 3/11. The ride route will be posted on the website, teamevesham.org, later this week. Don’t forget – Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday.
Again, welcome to the new riders who joined with us this week, and we hope you’ll join us on many more rides this year.
Sandy, Brad, and Dave
