Missed seeing everyone this morning!

Rain and flash flooding cancel the ride for Sunday, April 14, 2011!

Check back later this week for an updated schedule for a Mid-Week ride.

Sandy writes, “When I got up today it was raining in buckets and the streets were soaked. So I looked at the weather forecast and the prediction was for heavy rain until after 9:00am. You know the weather forecast is not always 100% accurate. I understand a few folks showed up at Murphy’s Market to ride. I am sorry for not being there to inform you that we had postponed the ride in the interest of safety. In the future, please check the website or call me if your are not certain if the weather has altered our ride plans.”

Next Sunday, August 14th, the ride will again be the Murphy’s Market Ride. See you there at 8:00AM.

Princeton Free Wheelers 31st Annual Ride Event

On Saturday, August 6th, 2011 ten Team Evesham riders participated in the 31st Annual PFW Bicycling Event including the seven shown in the photo above, (from left to right) Frank Landgrebe, Scott Santos, Jim Sweet, Chuck Nowicki, Sandy Student, Brad Davis & Sam Student. In addition three Team Evesham riders not shown but who also rode in the PFW event included Dave Bennis, Will Scott & Bob Greenberg.

What a ride! We met at about 7:15AM in the parking lot of Mercer County College. The countryside was beautiful and the PFW team did a first-class job with the rest stops. We have horse farms in Burlington County but not as large as those that we passed on this day: Dozens of horses on a single farm. It was a warm summer afternoon but not oppressive.

Some of us had trouble with directions. If you can picture this, at one point six of us were standing at a five-point intersection with Blackberry, iPhone & Android phones for ten minutes trying to get our bearings. Several wrong turns did not deter us however.

About halfway into the ride the yellow and white jerseys completely fanned out with some of us in the 35-mile ride, some in the 50-mile ride, and some in the metric-century hill ride.

This was a day filled with fun and memories. Thanks to everyone who participated.
